The Redstreaks are off to a good start with impressive wins over Hillsboro 68-50 at the Zane Trace Tip Off Classic.

Evan Legg was named MVP of the game scoring 17 points, Jamie Helton added 17, and Caleb Southworth recorded a "Double Double" with 14 points and 14 Rebounds.

The Streaks then opened league play on Tuesday night by beating Zane Trace 63-43, Evan Legg led all scorers with 28 points, followed by Caleb Southworth's second "Double Double" with 13 points and 15 Rebounds. Keenan Brush added 6 Blocked Shots as the Streaks swarming defense held ZT to just 28 points before clearing the bench with a 33 point lead.

Redstreaks lose another heartbreaker at Huntington 52-49, after having a chace to win the game with 13 seconds to go, with the score 50-49 Piketon called timeout to set up a play for the game winner, however the play was not executed and the Redstreaks turned the ball over and committed a foul. Huntington made both free throws with 2.3 seconds on the clock. Huntington called a timeout, which gave Piketon a chance to set up a perfect play, which gave them an open three point shot, but it missed the rim as the buzzer sounded.

Piketon bounces back with an impressive 77-58 win over Westfall. After a close battle for most of three quarters, Piketon's pressure defense turned up the heat to knock off Westfall in the final quarter by going on a 17-2 run and force a 4-way tie for first place in the SVC at 2-1.

Piketon struggles most of the first half against a very quick and talented Columbus Mifflin Team. The Streaks came out smoking in the second half to erase a 13 point deficit to gain the lead at 83-82 with 13 seconds to go. Mifflin comes down and scores quickly with 4 tics on the clock. Piketon once again comes up with the perfect play to get a open lane to the basket, however Evan Legg was knocked down by a Mifflin defender, no call was made as the buzzer sounded and Piketon loses another heartbreaker 84-83 at the so called "Oven". Evan Legg led the Streaks with 30 points.  Piketon is now 3-2 and 2-1 in the SVC with another game this Friday vs. Paint Valley.

Streaks pick up two impressive wins 94-58 over Paint Valley and 81-29 over Adena. Piketon is now 5-2 and 4-1 in the SVC tied for first place with Zane Trace. Piketon will play in the Waverly Holiday Classic tonight vs. Beaver Eastern.
